If Russia invades Ukraine, it will be a total mad thing to do and without any justification whatsoever. But the hypocritical American and British governments don’t have any moral authority to lecture Russia on invasions.
Any invasion of Ukraine by Russia would be counterproductive and see the loss of thousands of innocent lives, colossal destruction, human misery and centuries of trauma. And the West will not let Russia extract itself from the failed quagmire that it will inevitably face.
But someone like Putin must do something big and massive – so far he has done small things such as violently subdue Chechnya, annexe Crimea and take part of Georgia – in order to achieve his self-believed destiny. But in the process, he will destroy significantly what he has achieved so far.
